First off, let me start by saying welcome and thanks for stopping by! I have been meaning to start a blog for a while now, and finally got around to doing it tonight while eating some delicious homemade pizza, courtesy of the ever hospitable Coverdales.
I'm excited about this. Really excited. The concept of writing what's on my heart somewhere within reach of the general viewing public is pretty new to me, but I think I'm going to learn a lot about myself along the way and hopefully you gain some insight into how I do life in the middle of it all. We're in this thing together.
This season of life for me is really great. Life is good. A lot is changing, but there are some really cool things on the horizon. I can feel it. I woke up Monday morning feeling like a new man with a clean slate to write on. It was like that feeling on the first day of the New Year. That feeling of anything is possible. Why this particular Monday morning? Well...God has been working on my heart in a huge way this past month, major open heart surgery. He is showing me how to accept His grace and love even in those times when I feel like I've totally blown it. I can be really good at beating myself up in order to ease my conscience, but I'm finding true freedom comes from realizing that He took the beating so I don't have to. Simple stuff, I know. But it's one thing knowing it in your head and another to really grasp it in your heart. I guess that learning to live in that amazing grace brings that fresh feeling every morning, because it hasn't left yet and I'm loving it!
Anyway....Jeremy said numero uno had to be epic and I gave it my best shot. My desire is that this blog will be a reflection of me. So with that in mind, I'll be posting a lot of different things on here; reflections, devotional thoughts, daily happenings, music that I'm really digging, pictures, dreams, stories from the past, hopes for the future, you name it. I hope you enjoyed this post and all the others that are in the future, I could keep writing, but it's late and my new Ikea sheets are calling my name.
